Visual Arts
The
Visual Arts faculty aims to encourage students to think analytically
and critically. We want students to enjoy the experience of doing
visual arts and music and to make artwork, music, think, experiment,
take risks and push boundaries. Above all students should extend themselves.
Mosman
High's Visual Arts have a
special program
for talented Year 7 & 8 students. We have courses in
ceramics for both senior and junior students as well as visual design
and photography for senior students.
Visual
Arts have coordinated programs with the regional gallery and students
exhibit regularly in local exhibitions and state wide exhibitions.
We regularly have outstanding results in the HSC and we have a reputation
for success.
The
entire Visual Arts Building is dedicated to art with studio facilities
as well as exhibiting space. We have two darkrooms, a dedicated ceramics
space and a newly constructed computer pod. Students are all encouraged
to use these areas whenever they can.
